Variety...The Spice Of Life

In the summer month of July 1999, Mark and Odette Bazile made the decision to move their three children, Maille, Thamar and Mark, from the Garden State of Orange, New Jersey to the beautiful Sunshine State of Orlando, Florida.  Though Maille and Thamar were filled with feelings of uncertainty due to their recent move, it was immediately alleviated once they met Lynn William at their former church known as the Christ Sanctified Church.  From that moment, the three young ladies found common ground, in both their singing abilities and their love for the Lord, and since then, they have become inseparable.  They first started out showcasing their beautiful voices in the local church choir.  Then, as the girls began to acknowledge the gift that God had blessed them with, Maille, Lynn, and Thamar took the initiative and began to travel and minister at different venues.   Unfortunately, as time went on, the girls separated and although they remained good friends, Lynn became involved with another female gospel group, as did Maille and Thamar.  However, in August of 2006, though not as a group, Maille, Thamar and Lynn attended Mega Fest in Atlanta, GA where they made a decision to perform together at an open mic event.  Amazed at the crowd’s reaction, the girls realized that as a group, they possessed something very powerful.  After that performance, careful consideration and most of all prayer, the girls realized that it was God’s will for them to reunite as one so that He may cultivate them into the best that they were destined to be.  Several weeks later, Maille, Thamar and Lynn officially announced themselves as a group and entitled it “Voice of Unity”.  Unfortunately, they were unaware that there was a national recording group by that name already.  Nevertheless, as they prayed and patiently waited for a group name, the girls continued to minister in their city of Orlando, FL.  They performed at various events, ranging from weddings to funerals to birthday parties.  But in the month of October of 2006, their patience and prayer paid off, and the name Variety was bestowed upon them.  The definition of “variety” is the state of being varied or diversified; a different form, condition, or phase of something, and it is evident that these young women embody that very meaning.

Variety’s purpose, and ultimate goal, is to bless ALL people; no matter the race, nationality, background or religion.  Their objective is to praise God and edify the body of Christ, while simultaneously winning over the souls of the lost and introducing them to their Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  Maille, Thamar, and Lynn formed Variety with the mission to win souls for the Kingdom of God with their voices.  This dynamic trio was made to create music for the entire world, while encouraging and uplifting all who hears it.  Variety has traveled throughout Florida, Georgia, New York, and various other locations, spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ.  Not only have they ministered with Stellar Award Winner Dewayne Woods and Dove Award Winner Dr. Ron Kenoly, but they have also participated in a Black History Tribute with Stellar Award Nominee Shirley Murdock.  In August of 2008, Variety presented their first concert, which was a success, entitled “More than Talent”.  As a result of the positive feedback they received after their first concert, Variety hosted a Christmas benefit concert the following year, in efforts to raise the necessary funds to help support the release of their first self-titled album.  Variety is in fact, one of the next hottest Gospel trios in the world and anticipates the scheduled release of their album in the spring of 2010.  Maille, Thamar, and Lynn consider the opportunity to spread the Gospel of the Lord through song, a true blessing and they patiently and graciously await the many doors God will continue to open for them.
